Which Wolf Wins?

I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend. Yesterday, I worked on my book for most of the day. Our good friends, Todd and Jan came out and walked our dogs, and I had a great visit with them!

Kinky is back at the ranch! I had a good visit with him, Ben and Will yesterday, over at the Lodge! He has a busy month planned, and I am glad that he is going to be here for several days.

A few minutes ago, my friend, Cindy sent me this and I love it! Unfortunately, when I copied it and then pasted it, the picture of the two beautiful wolves didn't copy. Anyway, this is probably the best I have ever heard life explained!!

TWO WOLVES

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

"One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

"The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

just got my Kinky stickers and your book the other day...read it yesterday, and it was wonderful, fellow Libra! i recommend "A Rare Breed of Love" by Jana Kohl, who rescued an about-to-be-retired puppy mill mom. it's an eye-opener.

keep your nose in the wind! (and your tail to yourself)

i'm Oct. 22, 1955, which makes me right on the cusp of Scorpio, but...unfortunately i've never developed that Scorp side to keep from being picked on. maybe it's because it makes me a cuspidor?
love the ancient Kink photo. he's really right about the "moss!" i'd like to see THAT 'do with "hat hair!"
they make you your own batteries for that solar squirrel? cool! i had a couple of cats i miss that much. liked the LOVE rock art.
you & i had a really nice long phone conversation in late 1996, right after the book-signing here at the Library, Ltd. (sadly absorbed by Borders now...it was a great, large, independent store and not many of them left).
that's the one in St. Louis where KF had me tune his guitar for him. what a thrill! and what a nice guy. i'm sure the singin' cowpoke knows how, and just saw the longhair leaning against a pillar in the back. he DID ask the whole crowd if anyone out there knew how, and i waited and looked around for a bit before raising the only hand, but still.
on the way to the lobby where he was set up to sign books (so he could smoke) the cute gal had us write our personalized message on a Post-It, and i wrote "Bob - you tuned the guitar wrong!" when i got to the table, he did a double-take and said that i'd done fine...i said, yeah but i thought it'd be funny. so he wrote my message and added to it, "-but close enough for country dancin'!"
i no longer have that book, or the Lucky Plectrum, or 95% of my general library(which included some rare stuff), or most of my other possessions, due to some bad housemate choices over the last few years. but my faithful rescue cats Maggie and Ziffy and i are doing well as minimalists. i do some help for Stray Rescue of St. Louis, a truly noble outfit like yours. Quentin, the Basenji who survived the gas chamber (30 minutes in straight carbon monoxide) is our spokesdog, and he's a character! also a fart-blossom like your Yoda was.
Hey, i just heard from a firefighter up in Wisconsin who's trying to rescue a lonely black sheep who wandered onto a friend's farm. i know of farm-rescue outfits in NY and CA but not up there...heard of any?

Cheers!

Oct. 22, that makes me a Scorpio cuspidor. we had a nice phone chat soon after a KF booksigning here in St. Louis in late 1996, where he had me tune his guitar for him, remember?

look up the outfit i volunteer for, Stray Rescue of St. Louis. our spokes-Basenji who survived the gas chamber, Quentin (who is a real cutup), reportedly farts as much as your dear Yoda. do they REALLY make special batteries for the squirrel, with your name on them?

Loretta is great, she also was in a photo shoot with Baby, a puppy-mill mom rescued by Jana Kohl, whose book is great too.

lastly, i have a fireman friend in Wisconsin whose neighbor is trying to get a lonely black sheep rescued, and i only know of farm critter rescue places in NY and CA. thought you might have a longer list.

Cheers from me and my rescue cats, Maggie and Ziffy!

Oct. 22, which makes me a Scorp cuspidor. love the ancient Kink pic...imagine THAT 'do with "hat hair!" and the new rock garden is sweet.

remember our chat in late '96, after KF had me tune his guitar at a book-signing here? it was great!

i help Stray Rescue of St. Louis, and our spokesdog Quentin apparently farts as much as Yoda did! well, he survived the gas chamber (truth; check out the website).

a firefighter friend in Wisconsin is trying to help a lonely black sheep get rescued..it wandered into a friend's place...i only know of farm-critter rescue places in NY and CA and thought you might know of some up thataway.

Peace,
BC

do you know of any farm-critter rescue places in Wisconsin? a friend has a lonely black sheep who needs a home.

Denton, TX, where i taught a hazmat class last year is having a practice spill-response next month, so i've been providing free suggestions on how to run the scenario. i've also been exploring whether Stray Rescue can use some training from me in emergency critter evacuation, as both shelters are in urban and semi-industrial areas. u guys only need to worry about the propane tank on the little green trailer exploding, but still, u have weather, LOL! just watch that Animal Planet series on the Little Zoo that Could...they did monumental stuff saving their critters.

P.P.S. for your reading list i also recommend "The Crock of Gold" by James Stephens from 1912, "Das Märchen" by Goethe (translates to "The Fairy Story," and i was working on a sequel until i lost all my notes...need hypnotic regression therapy and a pen now), and "Black Elk Speaks."
