A Band Is Born!

Today has been so great. This morning when I got up I checked my e-mail, Twitter and Facebook accounts to see if Fay had sent me a note about Kia, but she hadn't yet, because it was so early in the morning.

When Tony came home from the Old Timer the phone rang and it was Fay, so we put our phone on speakerphone, so we could both talk to her and the news was all good, except for the two hour delay in Cleveland. Fay and her family love Kia, Kia loves them and Kris Kristofferson is madly in love with his new, beautiful sweetheart from Texas. Fay also told us that she and her daughter Sarah went to the pet store, because of Kia's plane delay and they bought Kia a pink bed, etc.

Early this afternoon I called Fay and told her that I wanted to make a short video of her talking about Kia, while showing Sarah's video clips and photos and she told me they would love to do it and they would get right on it. So tomorrow afternoon I will work on " Kia's 1st Day in Canada!" and put it all together and then post it on my blog tomorrow night if I have the time. I can't wait to see Sarah's video clips and pictures.

This morning Lisa and Eileen, our good friends aka super volunteers, came out to walk our dogs for us while Tony fed the dogs and I cleaned their pens. When they returned Merlin and Maggie to their pen I took a break to visit with them for a minute. "Nancy, I want to be in your, Ben and Tony's band. I have an amp and I play the ukulele. I've been playing for two years."

"How cool! Of course you can be in our band. I didn't know you played the uke. We'll change the name of our band to BLeNT."

"I might have a gig for y'all in November," Eileen said, as Lisa and I started laughing at the thought.

"Only if it's a paying one," Lisa quickly quipped. "We haven't even played together, yet..." A few minutes later, I went back to scooping up gifts and they took off for a walk with Maggie and La Toya.

When I had finally finished cleaning the dog pens I went for a walk with them and Enzo and Laz and I really enjoyed it, because Eileen and Lisa are so much fun to be around, because they are so funny and always upbeat—just like June and her sister Ellen are.

During our walk down to the creek we were amazed at how well Laz and Enzo were getting along with each other, since they had never met before and when we returned to the rescue ranch, because the dogs really liked each other, we decided to put them together in Laz's pen to see if they would get along with each other—and they did and we were thrilled.

Before the two Fabs left, to go eat lunch in Medina, Lisa put Festus in our larger puppy pen, next door to Fred Flintstone's and Wilma Rubble's pen, in hopes that they will become good friends within the next couple of days, so we can put Festus in their big pen with them, so he'll have roommates, because he is alone now—since Kia left the country yesterday and decided to become a Canadian citizen.

Late this afternoon Tony and I decided to play some music, so he could practice using the D chord and reinforce the C and G chords that he has recently learned to play on my mandolin. And I was totally amazed at how much better he played today since his last music lesson.

After pickin' and a grinnin' for over an hour we decided to call it quits for the day, because his fingers were killing him and I certainly know how that feels. Then it hit me, "Tony, I've just come up with a better name for our band and I love it. How does "L—BeNT" sound?" Tony smiled and let out a laugh. "Or maybe L—BeNT And Husky Bound."

"L—BeNT And Husky Bound. I like it, Nance. "A band is born. L—BeNT And Husky Bound is a great name. Do you want some ice cream?"

"Nope. I'm going to plug into my amp and practice a little."

And that's about it for today. Tonight I am going to work on a logo for our band L-BeNT And Husky Bound.

Y'all have a great evening and please pray a little harder for rain for us.
