Episode 40: Things Have Changed! or A Sign!

Howdy folks! I just published a new podcast episode on The Cousin Nancy Show to let you and my friends know what has been going on. And this is what I said—in a nut-shell or you can go to The Cousin Nancy Show to listen:

"Howdy folks! Long time no-hear. And the reason for that is my Garage Band software which I have always used to produce a new podcast is no longer available to me, because my old Mac is just too OLD.

So since I can no longer use my podcasting equipment, on my computer, I decided that it was "a sign" for me to switch from doing this podcast to doing daily YouTube Shorts, which can be no longer than 3 minutes in length!

But listener be aware—you will see me doing the short videos, but remember you do not have to watch.

I do want to invite y'all to please join me on YouTube and my new channel is:                 Cousin Nancy In Texas where you can watch me tell a short joke or two.

And an easier way for you to find me is just go to my website:

https://www.cousinnancy.com and click on the link: YouTube Shorts or click on the link to my blog, because I am also posting each Short (video) there, too.

And please note: I can still do podcasting here from time-to-time, because I can always use Tony's OLD computer to hook-up my podcasting equipment.

Take care and keep on laughing!"

Episode: 33 The Engagement! or Beavis & Butthead!

If you would like to listen to this podcast rather than have to read it please click here on: The Cousin Nancy Show or click on The Cousin Nancy Show on the right side bar. 👉

The other night I was watching a re-run of Saturday Night Live: Season 49 Episode 17 with guest host Ryan Gosling and Chris Stapleton. And I don’t believe that I have ever laughed so hard in my life.

Every skit was funnier than the last one, but my two favorite skits in that episode were: The Engagement and the Beavis & Butthead skits.

And what made these two skits even funnier was watching Ryan Gosling, because he had a very difficult time trying to keep a straight face and not burst out laughing, while desperately trying to stay in character.

Anyway, to view these two hilarious skits just click here: The Engagement or the Beavis & Butthead skits.

In fact, just watch the entire episode, because every skit was funny and Chris Stapleton’s performance was, as always, unbelievably awesome. I love his music.

Okay, now here is a Cousin Boomer Update for y’all: Yesterday Boomer came over for happy hour, but when he arrived he was not all that happy, so Tony asked him what was wrong. And Boomer replied, “Last week I sold my homing pigeon on Ebay—for the 22nd time."

******

Now here are My Thoughts For Today folksAs I've grown older, I’ve realized that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake. And I also know for a fact that the truth is six out of the seven dwarves are not happy.

*******

Okay now it is Make Me Laugh Time! Thank goodness. Our dear friend Clive sent me these two:

When one door closes another door opens—and other than that it’s a pretty good car.

Sometimes I often wonder what happened to all of those people who asked me for directions.

Our dear friend Fourth sent me these two to tell y’all—One blonde to the other asks,

“Why do the French like to eat huge snails?”— “Because, they don’t like fast food.”

Why do golfers always carry extra pants? In case they get a hole in one.

I found a book called How to Solve 50% of Your Problems. So I bought 2.

Why did the coffee taste like dirt? Because it was ground just a few minutes ago.

What happens when a strawberry gets run over crossing the street? Traffic jam.

Why was six nervous? Because seven eight nine. And this concludes this segment of Make Me Laugh Time.

********

Well folks, I do hope that my podcast has made you laugh at least once, but if it didn’t—who cares! I want to thank y’all for listening. And please remember my favorite quote: Life is short. And so am I! Y’all take care and keep on laughing! Adios!

If It Is Jokes You Want—You Got 'Em!

Tony's and my dear friend Harley David Belew on Hill Country Patriot Radio has invited me to tell some weekly jokes for his listening audience—which is a huge audience and extremely popular in the Kerrville area and the surrounding Hill Country.

Some of these jokes you may have heard before on my podcast, but what the heck—they are still funny and they will still make you laugh out loud. (So mission accomplished.) And each radio segment will be no longer than 2 minutes!

I will continue to podcast and title and number those episodes as I have in the past. But the new difference is if the podcast title simply says: Just Jokes! it will be exactly that—just some of my favorite jokes. And I can pack in a lot of jokes within two minutes.

And I do want to thank, in advance, all of our many friends who help keep me supplied with their favorite jokes. (Clive & Curtis, Fourth, Cindy, Harold, Tony, Andy, Ronnie, Drew, Gerry, Robert, etc.)

I am so excited about doing this with Harley and getting back into radio, so to speak, so please wish me luck with my newest endeavor!

If you would like to listen please click here on: The Cousin Nancy Show or click on The Cousin Nancy Show on the right side bar. 👉 )

Y'all take care and keep on laughing!

P.S. I have already published the first three of the Just Jokes! episodes on my podcast.  And from here on out a new Just Jokes! episode will appear every Saturday. So please mark your calendars.

Episode 32: Aliens, Big Foot, UFOs And A Strange Creature!

If you would like to listen to this podcast rather than read it please click here on: The Cousin Nancy Show or click on The Cousin Nancy Show on the right side bar. 👉 )

*****

The theme for today’s podcast is going to mainly be jokes about aliens and Big Foot, because I have always been fascinated by them. And it is fun to think about them.

But before we get to the Make Me Laugh Time here’s a Cousin Boomer Update for y’all:

The other day Cousin Boomer was over here and he told me that he didn't understand cloning and I told him, "That makes two of us.”

And Boomer also told me that he went to a sporting goods store last weekend to buy some camouflage pants, but he couldn’t find any.

******

Now it is My Thought For Today Time!

If life gives you melons—you might be dyslexic!

*******

Okay now it is Make Me Laugh Time!

How do aliens throw a party? They “planet” in advance!

What’s a light-year? The same as a regular year, but with less calories.

You know Big Foot is some times confused with Sasquatch—Yeti never complains.

Why are Big Foot’s sinuses so stuffy? He refuses to use a Yeti pot.

What’s the difference between UFOs and an honest politician? It is possible that UFOs do exist.

Legend says that a Big Foot can grow up to 15 feet. But they usually just have two.

What do you call a spaceship with a faulty air conditioning unit? A frying saucer!

How does Bigfoot tell the time? With a sasq-watch.

What did the alien think of the anti-gravity book? He couldn’t put it down!

What did Big Foot say when the Abominable Snowman asked if he was ready to leave the party? “Not Yeti.”

Okay. My dear friend Fourth sent me this joke and I love it even though it isn’t about aliens or Big Foot. And here goes— If a cow doesn’t produce milk. Is it a milk dud or an udder failure?

And speaking of udders this is my reply to Fourth’s joke: “Fourth, what do you get when you cross an alien with a cow? An “udderly” strange creature!”

And this concludes this segment of Make Me Laugh Time.

********

Well, folks I do hope that my podcast today has made you laugh at least once, but if it didn’t—who cares!

And before I go I do want to thank y’all for listening. And please remember my favorite quote: Life is short And so am I!

Y’all take care and keep on laughing!

Episode 19: Remembering The Alamo With Fourth Coates! or Duck And Cover!

Today has been a blast, because I was lucky enough to interview my and Tony's dear friend Fourth Coates. And you can see why we love Fourth so much by listening to this entertaining interview with Fourth telling one funny story after another. And with me often cutting in to tell a few jokes.

Fourth kept Tony and I laughing with his hilarious stories about growing up on a ranch, in South Texas.

The Cousin Nancy Show Trailer Is Already Up There!

Today has been great. I have spent over 8 solid hours making a trailer for The Cousin Nancy Show and to say the least—I am pooped, but it was worth it.

I just finished editing it and I uploaded it to Buzzsprout to publish immediately and believe it or not The Cousin Nancy Show Trailer is already up there! Just click the link below to listen.

https://www.buzzsprout.com/1600207/8139881-the-cousin-nancy-show-trailer?play=true

Or go to cousinnancy.com, scroll down to podcast and click. It will take you to Buzzsprout's page for The Cousin Nancy Show.

Then scroll down the page and click on "Trailer" and adjust the volume to your liking. And I hope you enjoy it and it makes you laugh.

Now, I must wait on Apple to approve my podcast for their platform, which can take up to 14 days before putting it on their Apple Platform and then it will be added to Spotify, Google, etc..

So while I am waiting on Apple, I hope to do 2-3 podcasts in the meantime and then start doing 1 a week.

My trailer is not totally perfect, but it is close enough and my episodes will just get better and better as I become more comfortable with the technical stuff.

That's it for tonight, because I am going to make a few phone calls to let family & friends know the trailer is up and running.

Y'all take care and keep on laughing!

You Think You're Done, Yet?

The past ten days I've been very busy learning more about professional podcasting while Tony has been having to go back and fourth to Medina to pick up several packages delivered to me, at the Post Office.

And I do hope that the time and the money that I've already spent for podcasting is going to pay off for me. Because this morning I got out my calculator to add up just how much money I've already spent on The Cousin Nancy Show podcast. And that is not counting all of my time.

Grand Total I Have Spent So Far is: $1,035.93

And yes, I know that $1,035.93 is a lot of money to spend on podcasting, especially when there are many podcasting hosts out there that are totally free. Like the ones that offer you a free app and all you have to do is use your cell phone to podcast, but after all of my research I chose to use Buzzsprout. Because Buzzsprout is the most popular podcasting host and it is highly respected among the podcaster community.

Anyway, this morning after I had discovered just how much I've spent I felt guilty about spending so much money and I wanted to tell Tony (confess to him) about just how much I've spent.

So when Tony got back home from working, I told him/confessed and it made him laugh. Not because we are rich by any means or have plenty of money to throw around—Tony laughed because he thought it was going to be a lot more money, because of all of the packages that he has been picking up for me. And after Tony had quit laughing, he teased me, and he asked, "So, do you think you're done, yet?" And that is just another reason why I love Tony.

Speaking of love, yesterday I got a sweet e-mail from my dear friend Gaby, who lives in Germany. And when I opened up her e-mail I read the first couple of lines and I burst out laughing. Because Gaby was wishing Tony and me a happy anniversary and she was apologizing for being a day late, because our anniversary is March 10th.

So I quickly sent her a note back telling Gaby that once again Tony and I had both forgotten our anniversary and I also thanked her for reminding me, so I could go tease Tony about it. And Tony laughed about us both forgetting our anniversary, again.

Lastly, early this afternoon I was talking to my sweet sister Cindy, on the phone and I was telling her about how much money that I've already spent on my upcoming podcast and we were laughing about it. "Cindy, the last few days I have probably spent at least eight hours trying to find the perfect, royalty-free, no copyright music to use on my podcast. "

"Okay."

"Well, two days ago after going to several of the royalty-free websites that Buzzsprout's Team had highly recommended I found nothing that I liked. So, I then went to Pixabay, which Buzzsprout, in their YouTube tutorialhad rated Pixabay as their number one choice to find royalty-free-music."

"Anyway, Pixabay is a fabulous site where musicians upload their music for anyone to download for free and to use however they want to. And it is royalty-free with no copyright."

"Anyway, I finally found the perfect music for my podcast after being on Pixabay's site for several hours. After I had downloaded the Clive Romney song for free, Pixabay suggested that I thank Clive Romney for the use of his music and that I might also consider making a donation to him, before leaving Pixabay's site."

"So, I decided to make a small donation of $50.00 to him, because I wanted to sort of pay it forward and do the right thing for getting to use his music for free. And also because in the picture of him, on Pixabay, Clive has white hair underneath his cowboy hat. So I figured that Clive Romney is probably some old, starving musician, on a fixed income, just hoping to make a little extra spending money from donations."

"That was nice, Nance," Cindy said.

"I thought so too," I said, and then I burst out laughing. "Cindy! I Googled Clive Romney and he is very famous—for his music and he also performs at Cowboy Poetry events, too. And get this—Clive Romney only joined Pixabay on January 7, 2021. Five days ago!" Then Cindy started laughing with me.

"Cindy, can you believe that I was thinking that I was helping out some poor, old musician with my donation. Heck, I bet when Clive Romney got my e-mail thanking him for letting me use his music for my podcast and for also making a donation to him—he probably felt insulted by my $50.00 donation. And he probably also thinks that I am one cheap, ungrateful woman..."

And that is about it for tonight.

Y'all take care and keep on laughing!
