N.A.R.F.E.!

Today has been a great day. This morning after Tony and I did our morning chores outside, we came inside and cleaned up, because we had to go to Santo Coyote, in Kerrville, so I could speak at the Hill Country Chapter National Active or Retired Federal Employees luncheon.

My dear friend Eileen had asked to be a speaker at their monthly luncheon in October, but I had to cancel that one, because I was sick with that horrible sinus infection I had, so she rescheduled it for today. And Tony and I had a wonderful time and really enjoyed meeting the members.

When we arrived at the Santo Coyote, Eileen greeted us and then she introduced us to their friendly members. As they ate their lunch, I talked about our rescue ranch, the wild hogs that we've adopted out to bed & breakfasts, did a reading and then I told them the story of how we rescued my four-legged soul mate, Roy Rogers on December 20, 2011.

Before Tony and I left to get back to the rescue ranch, Eileen took this picture of me dressed up. Then Tony took two pictures of Eileen and me, but unfortunately his camera settings were off, without him knowing about it, so he lost those pictures.

When we got back home Kinky called me from New York City to ask me how my speaking engagement went and I told him, "Kinky, it was so much fun. I talked for about thirty-five minutes and I was funny and I made the members laugh often..." Before we adios-ed each other Kinky told me that he will be back at the ranch on Saturday.

Last night I received an e-mail from my dear friend Ellen, who rescued that litter of pups and mama Chihuahua from the pound when the pups were only two-days-old and she has found super homes for all of them, including the mama, except for these two adorable boys. If you want one or know of someone wanting a small Chihuahua mix, please give me a call at the ranch: 830-589-7544 so I can hook you up with Ellen.

Tonight I plan to do some more writing on my part II novella and then play my guitar before going to bed. But before I go, I want to thank Eileen for inviting me to speak at the NARFE luncheon today and I want to thank Ellen for rescuing those adorable pups and their mama and finding them great forever homes.

Y'all have a great evening!

NARFE members loved you Nancy! Thanks again for being our guest speaker! You're the best! Lunch & a ballpoint pen are not near enough payment for your caliber of a guest speaker!
