Steven Rambam!

The New Year is already starting out great. Garnet sent me a note about Bobby & Ginger (The sweet Boxer that he adopted from us the day after Christmas.) She wrote that Bobby loves Ginger as much as she loves him and things are working out great.

Earlier this morning Tony told me that our dear friend Fay, up in Toronto, wants to adopt the female Pyr-mix pup if I am sure about not wanting to adopt Sassy aka Grandma for myself. "Tony, we already have five dogs and seriously, these precious puppies have been wearing both of us out.... So please tell Fay that we would love for her & Ian to adopt Sassy from us."

Then I spoke, on the phone, with two other nice people about two more upcoming possible adoptions. The woman and husband from Bandera are going to come out Monday to possibly adopt Rockette and I might also be driving and delivering one of our older dogs out to Alpine to be fostered! So please keep your fingers crossed about all of these adoptions.

And a few minutes ago, I received this e-mail from our good friend Rambam, with an exciting announcement. So, to help him kick-start and generate a audience, I copied it and am posting it here. Rambam wrote:

"Dear Colleagues:

This coming Wednesday (06 January 2016), 2:00 PM CT, is the launch of "Justice Radio", an exciting new radio show focusing on investigations, security issues, law enforcement, the justice and legal systems, and related issues of all kinds.

I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as the host of Justice Radio, and will be partnering with Gordon "Big G" Ames of the famous Texas Roadshow.

Justice Radio is a weekly multi-platform broadcast, and will air every Wednesday, 2-3 PM Central Time. It airs in the most prime of prime times: we're sandwiched between Rush Limbaugh and then Herman Cain and Mark Levin.

If you are in Central Texas you can listen on 1230 AM, and on FM, too. (Not certain of the complete broadcast area / channels, but for certain it's available in the entire Hill Country, and in some or all of San Antonio.) Justice Radio will also be live-streamed worldwide on the Internet (www.kerv1230.com) and is available live via all Apple and Android phones. (I've C&P a link to the iOS app, below.) J.R. will also be available as a free podcast on iTunes. Meaning, there is no location, worldwide, where Justice Radio will not be available, both live and podcast.

Justice Radio is also listener-participation radio; most shows, including the kickoff, will have an active call-in line. (Yes, we welcome your participation, and yes, please feel free to suggest guests.)

It is my hope that I will now be able to do on radio what I have been accomplishing on TV (I hope that you agree): to demonstrate how private investigation is today not just a job, it is a profession, and private investigators are a critical - in fact irreplaceable - part of the justice and legal system. (A note to FOI members: yes, J.R. will help FOI's educational and outreach programs grow!)

And based on what we're already been able to line up, Justice Radio is going to be one of the most entertaining and informative shows, anywhere. Scheduled this month:

06 January  KICKOFF

13 January "We See Dead People"
(murder for hire, fraudulent deaths and international investigation)
Guests:  Elizabeth Greenwood, author of "Playing Dead"
Richard Marquez, international death claim investigator

20 January "No Ferrari"

Fictional Private Investigators vs. the reality of modern private investigation

Guest: Richard "Kinky" Friedman, author of 20 private detective novels

27 January "Privacy Is Dead, Get Over It"

Privacy, Electronic Surveillance, The Internet of Things and tracking 24-7-265

03 February "International Investigation and Due Diligence"

Guests TBA; co-broadcast from international location

All input will be gratefully accepted,

Steven."

And that's what is going on out here right now.

Y'all have a great day!

Nowhere To Hide!

Today has been great. Around 10:00 this morning, our dear friends Daneshu and Jim came out for a visit and they had a great surprise in store for me.

When they arrived, after howdies and hugs, I said, "I heard Daneshu got you a banjo just like mine."

"Yes," Jim replied. "It was a total surprise to me and I've already learned how to crab-it, even though I don't know how to tune it yet."

"Did you bring it with you?" I asked.

"Yes, and I hope you can show me how to tune it."

Then Daneshu says, "We have a gift for Nancy," as Jim opened up the back seat door to fetch it. "Jim custom made it for you."

"Oh my goodness," I said.

"Knowing how much you love flying pigs and that your favorite color is pink, Jim hand-crafted you a pink flying pig—that actually flaps its wings when the wind is blowing." Then Jim walked around their SUV and handed it to me. And the instant I saw it—I absolutely fell in love with it and could not quit thanking Jim for it.

Then Jim grabbed his banjo and the three of us went inside The Cabin, so I could give Jim a banjo lesson, while Tony hung up my pink, flying, wing flapping pig, on the front porch.

After I showed Jim how to quickly tune his banjo and taught him how to bar chords—he and I were pickin' and a grinnin', in no time flat, as I finger picked my guitar and Jim playing banjo. Daneshu was so amazed that Jim and I sounded so good, she grabbed her phone and started videoing us, as Tony was shooting us—with his camera.

And after we had played for thirty minutes, Daneshu asked if she could try playing Jim's banjo. So, Jim gave his banjo to her and I gave my banjo to Jim—so the three of us could make some music. And not to brag, but to brag—the three of us sounded pretty darn good. So, Tony took this picture of us jammin'.

After pickin' and grinnin' for over thirty minutes, we decided to take a break, because their fingers were killing them. And that's when I asked Jim, "Will you please sign my flying pig for me?" Seconds later, we were outside watching Jim autograph the flying pig he had made for me.

As Jim signed his initials on his/my wing-flapping, flying, pink pig, Tony and Daneshu started snapping pictures. "Nancy, I want a picture of you next to the pig," Daneshu said. "And one of you and Jim standing next to it." Then she and Tony shot us, on the front porch.

Following our pig ceremony, we went back inside The Cabin and had wonderful visit that was filled with laughter.

And that is about it for tonight, because I am fixin' to go over to the Lodge to visit with Steven Rambam and Brian Kanof. I want to remind everyone that tomorrow night 10/9c, our good friend Steven Rambam's "Nowhere To Hide" series premier, on the Investigation Discovery Channel. And I hope that all of you will watch it, because for sure we will be watching it.

Y'all have a great evening

Hog Wild!

Today has been great, because our fabulous friends/volunteers came out and walked our dogs for us. We loved it and our dogs loved it more.

Our  great volunteer/friend Dawn, who adopted Sissy from us, last Saturday, brought Sissy with her today, so she could play with our giant dogs, officially sign-off on Sissy's adoption papers and walk our dogs for us. Dawn told us that Sissy has fit right in with her and Shane's old cat. That Sissy has stolen her husband Shane's heart and they have spoiled her rotten! So thank y'all for keeping your fingers crossed for Carol aka Sissy.

When all of us went to eat lunch together, in Kerrville, we got to kidding one of the volunteers, (Name withheld on purpose.). We'll call this kind-hearted person—Hog Wild.

Hog Wild has a wonderful sense of humor, except when it comes to her bacon. Hog Wild loves bacon more than any person I know and in the past, all of us have had a lot of fun teasing her about it.

While we were eating lunch, she noticed that her chef salad didn't have any bacon in it, "It says on the menu that it comes with bacon and..." When she frowned, that was all we needed to start teasing her.

"Oh dear," I whispered. "This is not good. Look, she's turning into the The Bacon B*&^% right before our eyes."

After we had quit laughing and a volunteer had suggested that Hog Wild ask the friendly waiter about it. Hog Wild asked the waiter. "Yes, it does come with bacon and I'm sorry," the friendly waiter replied. I guess our cook must have forgotten the bacon. I'll bring you some in just a few minutes." Then the waiter took off for the kitchen, to get Hog Wild some bacon.

While Hog Wild waited for her bacon, we took turns teasing her and saying things like. "Your headstone should have The Bacon The Bacon B*&^% on it. And now we can call you BB for short!"and "It's not smart to withhold bacon from Wild Hog." and "I think you should change it to The Bacon Babe.".... Seconds later Wild Hog was served her bacon. Then the cook came out and apologized for forgetting. After that life was good once again and lunch was a total blast with our friends.

Everyone please mark your calendars for Monday, August 4th, 10:00/9:00C, because Kinky's, Tony's and my friend Steven Rambam, an international private investigator, has informed us that his new television series about his investigations, Nowhere To Hide, on the Investigation Discovery channel, will premier on August 4th. Click Nowhere To Hide to watch a preview of it. And that is about it for tonight.

Y'all have a great evening!
