Last night, around seven o'clock, while I was in Outer Space, Jon Wolfmueller called and left a message. "Nancy, It's Jon. You need to call us when you get this message. We got a new dock for our iPhone, and we want to tell you about it. Bye."
At seven-twenty-three, I called Jon back. "Hi, Jon! That's great that y'all got a dock for y'all's iPhone! Is it a Bose, like ours?" Jon laughed.
"No, but it is almost as good, and a whole lot cheaper. We want you to hear it. Hold on," Jon said. "Sandy, play it for Nancy." As I heard them shuffling around, I was disappointed that they had not bought a Bose, because they are absolutely the best. "Are you still there?" Jon asked.
"Yes."
"Okay, just a minute. We're outside on our patio. I mean, we're in the Twilight Zone. Okay, this is the normal sound from our iPhone. Can you hear it?"
I could hardly hear it, because I had the phone up to my bad ear. "Yes, Jon—it's faint, though. Let me change ears." I quickly changed ears.
"Okay, now here it is with our new docking system. Go ahead Sandy play it." There was a pause, and then a loud blast of music—which made me change ears, again!
"Wow, Jon! It sounds great! I'm impressed!" Then Jon started laughing, and I could hear Sandy laughing in the background, too! "What brand is it?" They laughed even harder!
When they had quit laughing, Jon said, "I don't know. Do terra cotta pots have brand names?" Then he burst out laughing, again!
"Terra cotta pots?" I asked. "What in the world, are you talking about?"
"We didn't buy a dock, Nancy. Earlier tonight, while we were out here, enjoying a glass of David and Desiree's imported wine, Sandy was playing music on our iPhone. When she got up to water the plants, she put the iPhone inside an empty terra cotta pot, so it wouldn't get wet. And, as soon as she put it inside the pot—it amplified the sound! Can you believe that?"
"No, I can't—that's unbelievable! It really was loud, and the sound was great. Jon, you could market that, and sell pots, and call it 'Music and Pot.' You could sell three different sized pots. Making the biggest pot, the most expensive, because it is the loudest. And, it would be eco-friendly, too." Jon laughed.
"I know."
"You mentioned David and Desiree's wine. Have y'all been back over to the Trails End Guest House?"
"Yes, we went over there today, to Peasants, to buy a couple of bottles of their imported wine, because Sandy wants to serve it tomorrow night, to her book club."
"Did you get to see Desiree and David?"
"Yes, they are doing great! David told us that they had every cabin rented, and Peasants is booming."
"That's great!" I said. "I am so happy for them. Tone and I just love those two."
"I know. We're telling everybody to go out there. In fact, last week, we recommended Peasants to an out of town customer, down here for the folk festival, and suggested they give it a try. A few days later, they came back to the store, just to tell us how much they loved the food. And they thanked us, and said that their favorite part of their meal, was having the chef, David, come to their table, and tell them how he had acquired the recipe, how he had prepared their meal, and what spices he had used."
"That is so cool. I knew their place would be a success. Seriously, that boy can cook. Sometime soon, let's all go out their for lunch and bring Carol with us." Jon was all for it. We talked a few more minutes—then we hung up on each other.
This morning, I didn't walk, as I had planned. I decided to take the day off, so I could catch up on my paperwork, but ever so often, I would stop, so I could check on the many comments being made on yesterday's blog. Thank y'all for the comments and for making me laugh!
Y'all have a great evening!
