Pottersville!

The last few days have been great. The other evening Chet, Tony and I were talking about the classic movie, It's A Wonderful Life and just how much we loved it. Then we started talking about our favorite scenes in the movie, Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed, Clarence, the second class angel that was trying to earn his wings and ZuZu. And not to forget the run-on-the-bank! So we decided to watch it.

I have a copy of the movie, because I always watch it at least once a year, but I could not find it anywhere. In hopes of quickly solving the missing movie problem, I went to #$%^& so we could stream it, but it was only available buy purchasing it.

Then I went to (*()*&^  our other streaming service and found out that, It's A Wonderful Life, was unavailable to stream and it was also unavailable on DVD. Huh?

So yesterday afternoon, while we were in Kerrville, we swung by Hastings, so we could buy the movie, It's A Wonderful Life. The 60th Anniversary Edition.

Last night, we sat down and watched this great movie and we totally enjoyed it all over again. It was the very first time for Little Debbie and Big Al(ice) to watch the movie, but unfortunately, they ended up falling asleep, in my lap, before George Bailey slid into the icy creek and then saved by his brother Harry.

Anyway, after Clarence had earned his wings and the movie had ended, I suggested that we watch the bonus features: "A Personal Remberance" a special tribute to Frank Capra, narrated by his son, Frank Capra, Jr. It was so great we decided to watch "The Making of "It's A Wonderful Life, that included a fabulous interview with Jimmy Stewart, etc.

We even found out something that we didn't know about this famous movie. In 1970, this classic movie had somehow slipped between the cracks and by accident, the studio had neglected to renew its copywrite—making it Public Domain. Which I think means it is free for anyone to distribute, because there are no royalties to be paid.

So, my question tonight is: How come this ageless movie that improves with age, "Voted the #1 Most inspiring Film of All Time, by AFI's 100 Years..."(Quoted from the back jacket.) isn't available for streaming by "The Big Boys"?

It just doesn't make any sense to me. So as I finish writing this tonight, I will finally step down from my soapbox. Then because I need to laugh, I am going to sit down and watch another one of my favorite classic movies, It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, because I own my own copy of it and I love Jonathan Winters so much.

And also because it is also not available for streaming by The Big Guys. "Come on Little Debbie, Al(ice), Belle, Beau and Roy. We've got a funny movie to watch and this time please don't fall asleep."
