Hello Lamar, This Is Cousin Nancy. Can We Talk?

I apologize for not posting a blog yesterday. My excuse was I did so much writing and editing for my book—I was wore out. Yesterday was a great day, but quiet, too—exactly what I needed! I walked six fast miles, and spent the majority of my morning doing rescue ranch paperwork, while Jim, our great dog walking volunteer, walked our dogs! Thank you, Jim! We love you!

Tone and I had to go to Kerrville, yesterday for a couple of business appointments. Tony and I ate lunch at Chinatown, Kerrville's favorite Chinese food restaurant. Our meals were delicious, and I loved my fortune cookie! In fact, I read it out loud to Tony. "In the province of the mind, what one believes to be true either is true or becomes true!" Then T. read his to me, but it wasn't near as great as mine was.

"A smile is your personal welcome mat," Tony read aloud. Obviously, mine was so much better, but I didn't tell him that, because he was leaving the tip, and I wanted our waiter to get a nice tip. Tony tipped him nicely.

After our business meetings, Buttermilk returned us safely back to the rescue ranch. Then I worked on my book.

Today was a great day, too. Linda T. came out and walked our dogs! Thank you, Linda! We love you, too! And, thank you for helping Aaron!

Around two-thirty, the phone rang—it was Kinky. "Nance, I've got seven beautiful Morning Glory flowers! You have got to come over here and take a picture of them!" I needed a break from my book, so I grabbed my camera and went over to the Lodge.

"I just got off of the phone with Lamar Smith, to thank him for giving me the Morning Glory plant, and to tell him about the seven beautiful flowers that have bloomed today," Kinky said. "And, Lamar just told me that he had just written me a letter, but he hasn't mailed it, yet. Come on outside, Nance. I want to show you these flowers. They are amazing!"

I followed Kinky outside, and was instantly blown away, when I saw the beautiful blue flowers intertwined with the orange Trumpet Vine flowers! So, I shot Kinky and the flowers!

This week, because of my book, my blogs will be shorter than usual, but if anything big happens—y'all will be the first to know!

Y'all have a great evening!

P.S. I am so jealous of Lamar's Morning Glory plant that he gave to Kinky. I just might have to call Lamar and beg him for one. "Hello Lamar, this is Cousin Nancy. Can we talk?..."
